The Joint Research Centre together with Eurostat is organising a seminar on Scientific Support to EU Decision Making. The event will take place in Ispra (Italy) on 17 and 18 September 2012.
The aim of this seminar is to present the latest developments and thinking within the policy community on evidence-based decision making. It will provide a platform for a structured discussion of the advantages, the challenges and the limitations of the use of data and evidence for policy purposes. The participants will have an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices about how to ensure greater transparency, accountability and acceptance of evidence-based policy making.
The seminar will bring together different stakeholders: officials and experts from EU institutions and Member States, central agencies and authorities involved in evidence-based decision making, institutes, NGOs, researchers and journalists are invited to participate in the debate and share their views on the better use of data for policy purposes.
